We have a shepherd who lives near by and he is hired to bring his flock to various parts of the community to trim down the grass the natural way! I stopped to take a couple pics of the lambs (no zoom lens on my phone) and the shepherd talked to me. I was pointing out to him a poor little lamb who was baaaaing at the top of her lungs and seemed to be completely stranded. He explained that even in a herd of several hundred, each mother sheep knows the cry of her lamb and that if I watched I would see. Sure enough, a couple minutes later, a sheep lifted her head from across the field and let out this very loud BAAAAA! And as the little one kept crying, the mother followed the sound and before you knew it, was at the lamb’s side. The lamb nuzzled her and started nursing.
This reminded me so much of our dear Lord, and was just the encouragement I needed today. My faith is strong, but some days, I question it. Some days, I need to be reminded that God does hear my voice. Some days, I need to be reminded that I am His lamb and he knows exactly who, and where I am. I once was lost but now am found, was blind, but now I see.
