You find the best stuff, exploring in the cool of the morning. Busy bees, building a hive right on the walking path of about 1,000 residents. Poor bees. Better keep your suitcases packed. The focus isn’t so good! I was a little nervous trying to get my I-Phone up close to them!

Those are not actually bees. They’re wasps. Bees build their hives out of wax (not the mud-paper that the wasps above are making) and bees aren’t this neon yellow color. Also, bees prefer to live in a hollow, whereas wasps will build a nest anywhere relatively sheltered. Like a bush, lol.

They could also be hornets. My mother and I often argue about which is which. I think what you’ve got a picture of are wasps though.
