For all my fans, willowbatel commented on my post to let us know those are NOT bees in my previous posts today; they are wasps. This is what willowbatel had to say: Bees build their hives out of wax (not the mud-paper that the wasps above are making) and bees aren’t this neon yellow color. Also, bees prefer to live in a hollow, whereas wasps will build a nest anywhere relatively sheltered. Like a bush. (LOL!) Willowbatel said, “I’m amazed that a gardener was able to do this without being attacked. Except to say that because this is a wasps nest it does not constantly have residence in it like a beehive does. Even so, wasps are more aggressive than bees.”
Thank you, willowbatel, for all the good info! I found this cool pic of a REAL bee hive for our readership! And by the way, I’m glad one crazy lady with an I-phone didn’t get attacked either! I’ll be more careful when I check them out tomorrow!
You are very brave! Always have an exit plan to escape!!! lol. Great pics!
Thanks! I’m going to go check it out later this morning. Poor guys are doomed; they are in such a vulnerable location!
